Tarbela Dam is known as the earth filled dam that is on the Indus River in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan. It is defined as the largest earth-filled dam in the world. Tarbela is also taking into account the largest by structural volume. It has been build over on River Indus. It held as on the behalf of Government of Pakistan. Some of the major contributions for constructing the Tarbela Dam came all the way from the World Bank in the form of a bank loan. It also added on with the involvement of two International Development Association (IDA) credits. However, the bank loan approved in  1968.
